We bring expertise on industry directions and applied innovations, learnings from the field, as well as disciplines in planning and agile delivery of complex transformations

Mining Automation

Autonomous systems combine people, process and technology to streamline equipment movement safely and efficiently.

Leading operators are re-thinking the operation from drill to dump, using mixed OEM fleets and orchestrated equipment to improve safely, reduce variability and emissions and increase return on assets

ATI Case Study

potential productivity increase miners are realising from autonomous haulage fleets

improvement in maintenance execution times from paperless maintenance for the front-line

Smart Maintenance

In an increasingly connected world, maintenance models are being transformed by improving links between machines, technology and humans.

There are opportunities to track & trace parts, perform electronic inspections, streamline work for the front-line and avoid over maintaining equipment

ATI Case Study

Track & Trace

Digital transformation of inbound supply chains provide operators with the means to scale operations while maintaining cost control and driving efficiencies.

The world’s leading operators are investing now in their operations to support continuous supply chain innovation, unlocking future value in asset productivity.

operating costs attributed to inbound logistics, with an even greater potential for optimisation

potential increase in output of processing activities by implementing automated analysis

Data Engineering

Leveraging an organisation’s data assets is the first step towards digital transformation and boosting the performance of operations and maintenance.

Large scale operators are investing heavily in combining powerful analytics tools with massive live datasets from field operations.

improvement in effectiveness of critical processes by employing digital twin technology

Processing Plant Digital Twin

By digitally simulating production using physics-based models, operators can rapidly test improvements before impacting live operations.

Asset intensive operators have led the way in deploying digital twins that can unlock higher levels of plant performance

Our reputation is founded on bringing pragmatic expertise and thought leadership to operational improvement Our consultants are recognised leaders in their respective fields.

Mining Automation : Case Study

ATI was engaged by a large global miner as subject matter experts in mine autonomy to support the early stages of their first AHS rollout. Subsequently ATI continue to be engaged to support their global AHS design and deployment agenda.

Our Contribution:

  • Early scoping and governance including building the investment case, through to procurement and commercial negotiations
  • Planning activities including Class 2 estimates and schedules to support the investment decision, including peer reviews
  • Conducted FMEA and corrective and preventative maintenance activities, including revised operating and support models
  • Identified and implemented design improvements to be incorporated into fleet management standards

Smart Maintenance : Case Study

ATI was engaged by a prominent global miner to support the integration of a Smart Maintenance Digital Toolset into operations. Digital enablement of the maintenance teams is helping drive a culture of continuous improvement, delivering increased productivity from assets.

Our Contribution:

    • Building relationships with operational teams to ensure alignment with existing processes and pragmatic improvements
    • Development of an integration roadmap including syndicating plans with all major stakeholder groups for support
    • Planning and developing solutions in Agile Release Trains, managing iterations with a diverse team of specialist resources
    • Supporting the product owner in formulating solution strategy and the future product roadmap

      Data Engineering : Case Study

ATI was engaged by a world class integrated mine operator to lead the development of their strategy and roadmap for reporting and analytics across mine, rail, and port site teams, as well as integrated operations, maintenance and improvement teams.

      Our Contribution:

        • Detailed analysis of existing analytics and reporting capabilities to identify recommended improvement opportunities
        • Facilitation of engagement with both IT and Operations stakeholder groups to secure bilateral support and ownership
        • Development of the overarching operations analytics strategy and roadmap, including preliminary initiative scoping
        • Syndication of the final strategy and roadmap with executive and management teams to secure support and endorsement

          Rail Automation : Case Study

ATI was engaged by a large scale rail operator holding significant above and below rail assets. As the demand on rail services was increasing, the operator had concerns regarding the outdated technology being used for rail scheduling, control and signaling.

          Our Contribution:

            • Full concept and feasibility study including transformation of operations and maintenance practices not solely technology
            • Development of Concept of Operations for all rail functions, including requirements definition and mapping
            • Creation of technical artifacts to aid in procurement of suitable vendors, as well as preliminary engineering designs
            • Comprehensive operational readiness planning to ensure risks associated with transition to operations were mitigated
